This website was created by Maggie Meyers as a project for a local history class at the University of the Fraser Valley. The idea of focusing on Yarrow’s Mennonites and highlighting both Abe Wittenberg and Rudy Goetz came from the author’s interest in religious history. In addition to wanting to help make global historic events relatable, the author also wanted to explore how religion can be impacted during these kinds of events.

This website would not have been possible without the help and support from the Chilliwack Museum & Archives. A majority of the material used to help tell the story of Yarrow’s Mennonites during World War II came from their collection. The author would like to express her gratitude to the Archives staff for allowing her to conduct her research there.
